Preparations before processing ball guide post sets

     The ball guide post, is also called rolling guide post, which could be used for assembly technology. Its working principle is to prevent the steel post from falling off by the rolling of steel ball. The guide post is usually cylindrical, with oil groove on surface. Only correct processing could satisfy corresponding requirements, therefore, to ensure the whole procedure successful, some preparations need to do before processing ball guide posts.

     Please refer the preparations as below:

     1. The factory need to realize the choice and heat treatment technology for blank material. When using emulsion on high speed WEDM, the machine cuts normal material like copper, aluminum, quenched steel... The processing is stable and cutting speed is fast. If process hard cutting material like stainless steel, magnetic steel, cemented carbide, the processing would be not stable, and the cutting speed would also be slower.

     2. The working parts for ball guide post is normally forging blank, and wire-electrode cutting is often processed after heat treatment as quenching and tempering. While cutting metal in lager area or parts, the parts will be deformed and the processing precision will be damaged, the material may be cracked during processing if in serious condition, because residual stress distribution is destroyed, which is previously relative balanced inside material. Therefore, before processing wire-electrode cutting to ball guide post with complex cavity, destressing heat treatment is very important.

     The manufacturer not only ensures the dimensional precision of matching parts between guide post and mold, but also the coaxiality on surface, which means the concentricity between the upper and lower mating surfaces of guide pin, and the concentricity between outer and inner surfaces of the guide bushing. The guide post is processed with bar material, and then the center hole is repaired after heat treatment, finally, grinding on the cylindrical grinding machine.
