SKD61 material has good toughness, high temperature fatigue resistance, and could withstand temperature fusion, which is suitable for long-term work under high temperature, and with good cutting performance and polishing performance. The SKD61 material is smelted in an electric furnace and remelted by electroslag, the steel is purer and has better toughness. Therefore, it is suitable for making aluminum, zinc, copper alloy extrusion die, die-casting die, hot forging die, and small specification steel like hot-shearing blade( for skinning and cold-drawing). It's a kind of ideal material for making ejector pin and ejector sleeve. SKD61 is also suitable for manufacturing high-volume plastic molds, and nitriding treatment could obtain a good hardened layer structure on the surface of the mold. Nitriding treatment could obviously improve corrosion stability on surface, which is benefit to demould fastly.
