Compact hydraulic cylinders are actuators that convert fluid power pressure and flow into mechanical linear motion. They are also considered as motors or as actuators capable of producing work. Heavy duty compact hydraulic cylinder are found on presses, conveyors, lifts, dump trucks, garbage trucks, compactors, and clamps. In other words, all systems are designed by starting with the actuator.
Although the cylinders can differ from looks, style and size, there are two components that you will always find: the barrel and the piston.
A piston is attached to the rod and interior to the cylinder, which works as the boom arm among the all parts of the cylinder. The piston divides the space of barrel into two parts, internal rod side and the internal cap side of the cylinder. Fluid could be forced into either side of the cylinder to extend or retract the piston rod.
