Ejector pin is a spare part used in the mold, which is a plastic mold accessory used in plastic molds. It can also be called a push rod, a needle, a middle needle, a needle, etc.
The usage of ejector pin is wide:
1. In the plastic mold, the product is separated from the mold by the ejector pin, which is also the most commonly used;
2. Carbide ejector pin such as tungsten steel ejector pin can be used to pass through longer and thinner holes;
3. The ejector pin is also called the thimble, which is a conical metal round rod, mounted on a lathe or grinder, and to support the work piece and rotate the work piece around it. However, it is completely different from the ejector pin of the plastic mold;
4. Ejector pin for plastic mold can also be used inside the mold, and it can play a stable role. There are several types of plastic mold ejector pin: round ejector pin, support needle, standard ejector pin, non-standard ejector pin and etc. A lot of different material used for manufacturing ejector pin, such as SKH51, SKD61, SKD11, 65Mn... The toughness of SKH51 ejector pin is better than SKD61, and SKD61 ejector pin can withstand high temperature as 1600 °C. After nitrogen treatment to the surface of the SKD61 ejector pin, the wear resistance could be improved obviously. Ejector pin made of 65Mn is easy to break off due to its poor quality. Most plastic molds are not equipped with the 65Mn ejector pin now.
